BORBET Austria GmbH is a well-known manufacturer of aluminium cast wheels for the European automotive industry. The company was founded in 1983 as a subsidiary of AMAG, as of 1.1.1996 it has been privatised and since then it belongs to the German Borbet Group (www.borbet.de).

Project AAG 2000:

From 1998 to 2000 at the site of Ranshofen a substantial extension of the production capacities up to about 3.0 Mio. wheels took place. The project “AAG 2000”was initiated to maintain and extend the existing market shares in a growing wheel market and to therefore satisfy the increasing demand for aluminium wheels.

Automation:

A further target was to maintain the international competitiveness of the company. In the meantime, the new production capacities are fully loaded and the increase in profitablity verifies the new owner's decision, Mr. Peter Wilhelm Borbet, to invest in this location.

Change of the company’s name:
The Borbet Group has been able to fully utilize the synergistic potential created through the intensive cooperation and teamwork over the past years, thereby positioning itself as one of the automobile industry’s most successful and reliable suppliers.  Guaranteeing Borbet’s global reputation for customer value and consistent high quality has - and always will be - the center of our focus and efforts.  As part of Borbet’s effort to clearly communicate these core values and underscore Borbet’s commitment to excellence - both internal and external - as of January 1st, 2009, Austria Alu-Guss-Gesellschaft m.b.H. will officially be renamed BORBET Austria GmbH
